Tony Curtis & Associates Inc. is currently interviewing for the position of Junior Designer for a leading children’s and women’s apparel brand. Our client operates 30 corporate stores and sells to better boutiques and department stores throughout North America, Europe and Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated college/university graduate with a degree in fashion, and a little experience would be a huge asset.

This position is located in Montreal and the successful candidate will currently reside there or be willing to relocate.

JOB DESCRIPTION

To support the head designer in the creation of seasonal lines, work with print designers, product developers, build art specs and communicate style comments to vendors. 

Duties and responsibilities:

·         Manage line sheets

·         Create art specs

·         Communicate with overseas vendors

·         Assemble and send vendor packs

·         Approve and comment on samples

·         Manage incoming and outgoing samples

·         Create technical sketches

·         Assist and support Head designer in her efforts to create seasonal lines. Be flexible and able to assist team on design related issues as they arise ie: photoshoots, parcel shipping, etc...

Must Have Qualifications:

·         Successfully graduated from a College or University with a degree in fashion.

·         Outstanding knowledge of adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel

·         Work experience in the fashion industry is a bonus, but not a requirement

·         Ability to critically think about a style’s successes and failures and make suggestions to improve design.

·         Strong organization and time management skills

·         Be motivated and a self-starter
